CIC students and alumni can always learn from former international students now working and making waves across various Australian industries. That’s why CIC is gearing up for another networking event this 27 March, where guests will be talking about their work, the trends and challenges encountered in their respective industries, as well as the skills needed to succeed in the workforce. This presents a great opportunity for both students and alumni to expand their professional network and, perhaps, even find a mentor for their personal as well as professional growth.
These resource persons are as follows:
Silva Wei (Co-founder, Hoodic)
Silva was a former international student and now an entrepreneur, educator, and philanthropist. Through the startup Hoodic, which he co-founded, he coaches young professionals and guides business organisations in reaching maximum productivity.
Maha Siddiqui (Relationship Manager, CPA Australia)
Maha is an expert in graduate recruitment, work placement and career education, especially for international students. She is passionate about helping students find work after study and in organizing engagement activities for young professionals.
Tracy Huang (National Manager Business Intelligence, The Salvation Army Employment Plus)
Tracy was also a former international student who has since worked in specialist employment, training, finance, marketing and strategic planning. She finds purpose in sharing her experience and knowledge with international students.
Coby Liew (Program Coordinator, University of Melbourne)
Coby is a prolific social worker, project developer and psychotherapist. He founded the “My Rainbow Story” project, an Australian-wide initiative that empowers marginalised communities in the country, and launched a state-wide mental health & wellbeing program for international students in Victoria. He is passionate about promoting inclusivity, diversity and collaboration.
CIC students and alumni stand to learn a lot from this event, especially with this formidable lineup of resource speakers whose passion and expertise are geared towards international students. CIC hopes that after this event, both its students and alumni get a renewed sense of confidence and credibility to forge their own career paths.
